What Are The Career & Job Opportunities After Aerospace Engineering?

Written by

Aeronautics is the art or science of the manufacturing, design, and study of air flight capable machines. The field generally studies innovative ways to fulfill the time old desire of humanity. Aeronautical engineering involves the study, design, and exploration of the machines or airplanes that move in the space and air sphere of the earth. Aerospace science consists of Aeronautics as well as Astronautics.

Numerous people interchangeably utilize Aerospace Engineering and Aeronautical Engineering. Both fields are close and overlapping. But, there are differences. Aeronautical engineering is a field of Aerospace Engineering. It can also be understood as a specialization within the broad field of aerospace engineering. Aerospace engineering is covered with the development of aircraft and spacecraft. This field has two primary yet overlapping branches – aeronautical engineering and astronautical engineering.

Aeronautics is the study of designing and testing systems and tracts that are used in missiles, aeroplanes, and space shuttles. In this field, you’ll be responsible for the specialized, electrical, and designing aspects of the bodies, machinery, and software that go into similar complex systems.

Aerospace Engineering offers immense job openings both in India and all over. Both the private sectors and Government sectors offer job opportunities to Aerospace Engineers. The development, design, exploration, testing and maintenance of the performance of civil and military aircraft, missiles, rockets, satellites and security systems are the primary focus of an Aerospace Engineer’s work.

Job openings exist in –

Airlines, The Air Force, Corporate Research companies, The Defense Industry, Aviation Companies, Flying clubs, Space Research centers like NASA and ISRO, Government owned air services, Aircraft Manufacturers, Aeronautical laboratories, Private airlines ,Private companies owning aircrafts  ,Department of Civil Aviation, training opportunities for those with a Master’s degree qualification in Aerospace Engineering and many others.

Here’s a Job Openings After Aerospace Engineering, the various job profiles can exist-

Maintenance of aircrafts or missiles- Aerospace Engineers are responsible for the testing of new aeronautics and aerodynamic systems and their conservation.

Aircraft Developer- Those specializing in this field are responsible for the construction, design and testing of missiles, aircrafts and spacecrafts. Basic and related research may also be conducted by them to catch on the flexibility of the equipment and materials to the manufacture and design of the aircraft.

Aviation Engineers– They’re responsible for the field design, airspace development, aerodrome planning, aircraft navigation methods etc.

Satellite and space exploration- Those who specialize in this deal with communication networks comprising navigation systems, radars etc.

Defense- As is evident from the name they’re responsible for the creating, maintaining and deploying defense aircrafts that include helicopters, bombers, fighter jets etc. They’re also needed to have skills to handle these aircrafts in emergencies.

Aerospace developer checker- They’re responsible for supporting engineers in the design work. They check the design parameters, codes, standards, industry practices. The drawings, designs and blueprints of the project are also checked by them and any deficiencies or mistakes are reformed.

Aircraft production managers-  They’re responsible for ensuring that the manufacturing processes are running easily. They plan, and organize the product schedules. They’re necessary in negotiating, estimating and agreeing to the budgets coordinated between the customer and the directors. They’re also responsible for maintaining the timelines agreed to and set.

Mechanical design engineers- They engage the principles of engineering and physics to design devices and mechanical systems. They work on generating new engine models and work on strategies to enhance the current models. They make and test prototypes to check how well they perform.

Assistant technical officers- They assist with giving support. advice and maintenance about the various systems and installations.

Thermal design engineers- They apply the principles of thermodynamics to design systems that are used for heating or cooling. The heat or energy is transferred through gases and liquids. They’re also in charge of constructing these systems and testing their functionality.

If you have always been intrigued by aircraft, spacecraft and wondered what goes into the creation and maintenance of those, if you have always dreamt of flying high in your career then Aerospace Engineering is the perfect fit for you.
