1. Dahanu Beach

How to reach: If you intend to reach the Dahanu beach via road, there are plenty of state buses from Thane, Mumbai, Vasai, & Virar. If air is your preference, the nearest airport would be Mumbai Airport.

The Parsis and the Warli tribes are known to reside in the town of Dahanu. Therefore, a trip to the Dahanu beach will help you gain information about the people residing there, their culture, and their lifestyle. 

2. Arambol Beach

Located in: Arambol, in Goa

How to reach: The nearest accessible airport heading towards Arambol beach would be the Dabolim Airport. From there, you can take a taxi ride to the beach.

4. Bangram Beach

Located in: Bangaram Island, in Lakshadweep

How to reach: The nearest airport to Bangram beach would be the Agatti Aerodrome. From there, you can easily get a ferry to reach your destination.

The Bangram beach is the only beach in India, that has attained the title of the bioluminescent beach of India. It is known to float on the Arabian Sea, on the island of  Lakshadweep. 

The bioluminescent phenomenon strikes at night, when the beach waters get illuminated because of the emission of the blue lights by the phytoplanktons. It is because of this activity that the water appears to be the ‘sea of stars’.

5. Chandipur Beach

Located in: Chandipur Beach, Balasore, in Odisha

How to reach: If you want to reach this beach via air, the nearest airport would be the Kolkata Airport. In case you do not want to take a flight, you can always avail a train. In that case, the nearest railway station would be the Balasore station.

This unusually unique Indian beach is also known as ‘the vanishing beach’. However, it can also be referred to as the magical ‘hide-and-seek’ beach, because it tends to disappear during every ebb tide ( the time between a high tide & a low tide). 

This phenomenon occurs twice a day, when the beach is completely submerged underwater, showing no sign of land.

6. Ezhimala Beach

Located in: Azhikode South, in Kerala

How to reach: In order to get to this beach, you will have to first reach Kannur via train. From there, you can take any transport to reach this beach. 

A few kilometers away from Kannur, resides one of the prettiest beaches that human eyes have ever witnessed. Popularly known as Ezhimala, this beach is also known for its serene environment. 

Located in the southern part of India, this beach has a specific historical connection to it. One can hear tales about this beach in the ‘Sangam era’ of literature & in the Hindu epic- ‘Ramayana’. 

This beach is known for its majestic caves, ancient burial chamber, & intricately carved pillars.
