Getting A Grip On Rock Climbing Shoes

The first time you go rock climbing, you probably wore your basic hiking shoes. When you are ready to get serious about the sport, you need to consider upgrading.

When rock climbing, your feet serve a very important purpose. Depending on the climbing and terrain, they usually act as anchors for your movements. As anchors, it is important that they grip well. Regular cross trainers and the like are designed for many purposes, but climbing is not one of them.

The Canada Action Dashboard

Our Northern neighbor, Canada, is a beautiful country and a good neighbor. However, this article is not about Canada, the country, but about “CANADA” the word, as a dashboard for assessing our behavior and actions.

Now I am sure you can agree that the quality of our lives depends primarily on the quality of our actions. Our individual actions, taken together, make our homes, our society and the world a better or worse place to live in. It is relevant then, to reflect on the nature and types of our “actions”.

Are High Efficiency Filters Killing Your Air Conditioner?

With all of the information circulating on the internet today concerning indoor air quality one primary way to control what we breathe in our house is to filter our air very well. Most air-conditioning systems installed today in new homes use standard disposable filters unless the homeowner has specified a higher grade of filtration at the time of the air-conditioners installation and paid for this feature. Well-meaning consumers having learned of the value of better air filtration on indoor air quality flock to home improvement centers to buy better quality filters for use in their heating and cooling system. The problem is these filters may be killing both your air-conditioning and your electric bill!
