What An Exciting Picture Of Dynamic Spiritual Leadership As We See Two Old Men And A Lump Of Wood!

What vital lessons can we learn from these words written around 3,300 years ago? There are many sound solid practical relevant lessons if we are willing to make the time to understand.

I have been reading and studying and teaching from the early Chapters of the exciting book of Exodus, and this scenario takes place in Chapter 5 as Moses and Aaron go in to see Pharaoh and ask to be permitted to go and worship the Lord God Almighty.

Pharaoh said, “Who is the Lord that I should obey Him?” I do not know the Lord, and I will not let Israel go. Subject closed!

Aikido Concepts And Mastering The Art Of Peace

The martial art of Aikido has its origins in both spirituality and philosophy. It is also influenced by the Omoto-kyo religion which was the religion of its founder Morihei Ueshiba. The word Aikido is derived from three Japanese characters. “Ai” translates to joining; “Ki” means spirit while “Do” means a way. If you translate this loosely this becomes a way of joining the spirit.

More Than Time Is Required To Bring About Radical Transformations

How often do we think that time will radically change people? No - only Jesus Christ can do that. How frequently does a woman think that after she is married, she will change her husband? There are many casualties regarding that one.

Turn with me to Acts Chapter 25 in the New Testament and let me explain clearly what I mean.

Festus the Governor of the region returns to Caesarea, having been in Jerusalem, and the trial of Paul begins all over again, after having been left to languish in prison for two years. I have been in Caesarea many times and it would not be a nice place to be left imprisoned and particularly when you had no idea how long this was going to last. It is hot humid and steamy.

Foundational Characteristics Of Missional Leaders

One of my favorite leadership books is “Be, Know, Do: Leadership the Army Way” by Frances Hesselbein and General Eric K. Shinski (USA Ret.) This book takes a close look at the official Army Leadership Manual and applies its principles to the corporate and civic leadership realms. Here is the Army’s definition of leadership, “Leadership is influencing people, by providing purpose, direction, and motivation while operating to accomplish the mission and improving the organization”. (pg 5) This definition has three words that stand out to me: influencing, operating and improving. Influencing: motivating and loving others in the mission for the mission. Operating: creating plans, developing systems and managing their execution so that the mission is achieved. Improving: adding value to those around you and to the organization for the betterment of the mission.

For Many Men And Women You Might Be The Only Part Of The Bible They Will Every See!

Over these past 2,000 years it has been so interesting to observe and learn that no matter how certain persons have tried, nothing can stop the gospel of Jesus Christ.

In a number of articles, the truths and lessons which I have been writing about, have been based on the authority of the book of Acts. Bible Studies? Dry, dull and boring? Nonsense!

One of the strong messages arising throughout the Book of Acts is, nothing can stop the Gospel, and, no-one can prevent this Word from spreading.

Leadership And Good Decision Making

Leadership is about making things happen.

If you want to make something happen with your life – in school, in your profession or in your community, do it. Perceived obstacles crumble against persistent desire.

But persistence for your cause should not be gained at the expense of others. A bit of leadership wisdom.

Listen and understand the issue, then lead.

Time and time again we have all been told, “God gave us two ears and one mouth for a reason”, “Seek to understand, rather than be understood.” As a leader, listening first to the issue, then trying to coach is the most valuable advice.

Growing Leaders: Nurture The Leaders In Your Midst

A strong and fully developed leader is hard to miss. They make their presence known and their leadership abilities are obvious. But they were not always the strong and dominant person you see before you. At some point they may have been a “closet leader” who was unsure and conflicted about assuming a leadership role. How do you dig out these “closet leaders” and help them become a team leader?
