Goal setting for teens can be cool if it encompasses ways for them to contribute, fosters their growing independence and builds self-esteem - in a nonjudgmental and encouraging manner. Anyway, why should adults have all the fun with personal development!

If you visited the North Pole, you could languish in the glorious sunshine, sunbathe on the sandy beaches and admire all the beautiful flowers and plant life…

Oh no, hang on, wrong continent. What you’d actually find at the North Pole is nothing but huge drifting masses of snow covered ice. With fierce blizzards and howling winds much of the time.

So why are there no endless beaches, blossoming flowers and opportunities to top up your suntan here?

Quite simply it’s completely the wrong environment.

Decluttering & Creativity

Intuitively the link between decluttering and creativity makes sense doesn’t it? Creativity thrives in the land of new ideas and open thinking, while clutter tends to be characterised by clinging on to old ideas, attitudes, habits and possessions. In order to free yourself up to be fabulously creative, you often need to be prepared to let go of the clutter first. Inspiration is unlikely to emerge unless you’ve created a space for it.

What Is Creativity?

Thomas Edison, “Creativity is 99% perspiration and one percent inspiration.” You notice there is a reference to actual work in there. A lot of people have a mistaken idea of what creativity is. People assume an artist is creative because they are an artist and because of the subject area that they are interested in, and that’s not true! People view artists as creative because they are in the habit of being creative, but it’s not their subject area that makes them creative. The shift that people need to make is that it’s not what you think, it’s how you think.
